Hello Blue Jay Nation. I hope everyone is excited for the warmth of the summer months and the family opportunities that arise at this time of year. The Walker family looks forward to camping, travel, soccer and barbecue as we await the start of Buffalo Bills season.
With the regular school year coming to a close, it is time to reflect and prepare for the upcoming school year. The custodial staff is busy getting our facilities ready for the 2016-17 school year. Projects that will be tackled during this time will be painting in the elementary hallway, refinishing all the floors and beginning work on resurfacing the all-weather track down at Blue Jay stadium. The Rock Port School District will implement a few additions to our curriculum this coming school year. We are adding science (STEM) curriculum through Project Lead The Way in the elementary grades K -5, we have also purchased farm ground to add learning opportunities for our Agriculture classes and FFA programs. Also, with the realignment of our schedule we will be offering three new courses of study ( Arts and Careers, Appreciation of Literature, and Biology 2). We are very excited to see the impact of these programs on student learning and achievement. During the summer months it is imperative that our district reviews our performance to plan on improvements for the upcoming year. The Rock Port School District would like your feedback on our performance. We have linked a parent survey to our school website. Please take the time to fill-out the survey and give us your opinion on the performance of the district and submit. We look forward to reviewing all submissions and looking into ways to make our learning experience better for our students and staff. As always you can follow our student and district success on twitter @RPBlueJays. "Through leadership, dedication, innovation, and community partnership, we will provide opportunities for all students to maximize their potential, and become caring, moral, productive, and self-reliant citizens"
